The Bardos are generally identified with post-mortem states, whereas in original teachings, these states actually cover instructions that the practitioner is supposed to apply during his lifetime, in the course of meditative absorptions, during sleep, at the time of death, and eventually during post-mortem states per se. The present booklet describes the basic principles associated with these specific states, according to the perspective given in the teachings of the Great Perfection (Dzogchen), within the Nyingmapa tradition.
