As its title indicates, the subject of the present issue discusses the characteristics of the Water Lamp of the Far-Reaching Lasso (rgyang zhags chu’i sgron ma). Vimalamitra’s Commentary on the Dra Thelgyur provides interesting data demonstrating how this Lamp is connected to classical topics such as Base, Path, and Fruit, as well as its being associated with the four elements, and not only the water element as its name would suggest.
